Guide: Preparing Your Files Before Submission
Exporting your stereo mix for: Premium Mastering
Headroom: Ensure that the mix peaks do not exceed -6 dB to leave enough dynamic space for mastering.
Dynamics: Avoid using limiters on the master bus to preserve the mix’s dynamics and transients.
Frequency Balance: Check that the balance between high and low frequencies is comparable to references in the same musical genre.
Mono Compatibility: Make sure the mix sounds good in mono and correct any potential phase issues.
Audio Format: Export the file in WAV or AIFF format with 24-bit resolution and a sample rate of 44.1 kHz or higher.
Silence Before and After: Leave a few seconds of silence at the beginning and end of the file to allow full analysis by the mastering engineer.
Technical Check: Listen to the exported file to ensure there are no clicks, unwanted noise, or technical errors.
Avoid Plugins on the Master: Do not apply effects or processing on the master track before exporting, as this may interfere with the analog mastering process.

Track Organization: Make sure all tracks are properly named and organized within your DAW project. This will facilitate the mixing and mastering process.
Effect Check: Keep all creative effects (filters, delays, reverb…), but disable compression, limiting, EQ, preamps, etc.
Audio Format: Export your tracks in a lossless format such as WAV or AIFF.
Resolution and Sample Rate: Use 24-bit resolution and keep the original sample rate of your DAW project. Do not upsample or downsample.
Exporting: Export individual tracks (stems) into a dedicated folder on your computer.
Final Check: Before exporting, ensure all tracks are properly aligned and synchronized with the project BPM. After export, re-import the files into a blank session to verify that timing and balance match the original project.
